POST-SECONDARY

 RULES AND REGULATIONS 

Each dancer must be currently enrolled in a Post Secondary school.

 

Each team is allowed up to 4 non-enrolled dancers.  The number of non-enrolled dancers must never exceed the total number of enrolled dancers on the team.

 

All competing dancers must present a valid student card.  Only a maximum of 4 dancers PER TEAM may NOT present a student card but must still provide proof of identification with a valid PHOTO ID.  

 

Minimum of 5 and a maximum of 35 dancers. Maximum is based on the legally allowable number of personnel on stage at once.

 

Each team is allowed 2 coaches.

 

Classification for coaches: A supervisor, coach and/or choreographer who spends at least 10 or more hours supervising, coaching or creating choreography pieces for the team.

 

All members of the roster must perform on stage. No exceptions.

 

Failure to comply with any of the above may result in disqualification and no refund will be awarded for the registration fee.

 

Dance teams can be made up of dancers from other Post Secondary schools.

 

 

 

REGISTRATION FEE

Registration fee is $35 per dancer. This fee includes the BYOB Competitors Cap.

Example #1 

Team of 10 Pays $35 each for registration =$350

 

Example #2

Team of 25 Pays $35 each for registration =$875

 

 

 

MASTER MIX

Mix length 

Minimum 3:30 Minutes

Maximum 5:00 Minutes

 

 

Mix must be submitted via email to INFO@BYOBDANCE.COM ONE week prior to the competition date.

 

Teams that have not submitted their mix on time will be deducted 2 points everyday until they submit.

 

Mix must be in WAV file or another High Resolution format.

 

Clean/Radio versions for all music content (If not available, please mix out all profanity & gun shots).

 

You will be asked to edit your mix until it meets all the above requirements.

 

 

 

PERFORMANCE

                                           

Costumes must be appropriate.

 

No costumes that over exposes body parts.

 

No bandanas.

 

No visible (large) logos of any company or brand shall be worn unless the brand being worn is the team's name.

 

The use or props is allowed, however they must be approved prior to the competition date.

 

Please advise Diamond Osoteo at INFO@BYOBDANCE.COM. If you have not received an approval from Diamond you will not be permitted to use the prop during the performance.

 

 

 

THE DAY OF COMPETITION/BACKSTAGE

 

All dancers must be present during team registration

 

Things to have:

 

Media Release & Liability Waiver Form (Must be submitted via email 2 weeks before competition date)

 

Ticket money / unsold tickets  

 

 

All dancers must have a valid student ID

 

Examples:

Student Card

 

For Alumni: Valid Driver's license / Passport / Health Card / Etc.

 

It will be a long day, please bring water, snacks, food, Etc.

 

Dancers must be free of alcohol and illegal drugs.

 

Dancers must not bring any weapons, alcoholic beverages and or illegal drugs.

 

Failure to comply will result in an automatic disqualification for all involved members.
